How are therapists on MiMi verified?

Inviting a stranger into your home takes more than a promise. Here is what MiMi checks before a therapist can accept their first booking, and what you can check yourself when they arrive.

Step 1: identity verification (eKYC)
Anyone who wants to work as a therapist must be 18 or older, sign up with a Vietnamese phone number registered in their own name, and submit photos of both sides of their citizen ID card (CCCD) along with a portrait taken in the app. MiMi reads the details on the ID card and matches the face against the portrait.
The automatic match is only a reference step; the approval decision is made by MiMi staff who review the application, usually within 24–48 working hours. Applications with invalid documents, a face that doesn't match or incorrect information are rejected.
One therapist account per person
ID card numbers are stored as a one-way hash to detect anyone creating multiple accounts. A therapist banned for violations cannot open a new account with the same documents.
Approved profile photos
A therapist's profile photo must be approved by MiMi before their profile is shown to guests and before they can switch on accepting bookings. Photos are standardised for clothing and background but keep the face unchanged, and MiMi staff compare them with the identity verification photo before approving. The profile states this clearly.
When the therapist arrives: check for yourself
The most important verification happens at your door:
- You can follow the therapist on the map as they travel to you.
- When the therapist arrives, check their face and name against the profile in the app, then tap “Confirm arrival”.
- If the person who arrives doesn't match the profile, don't confirm and contact MiMi straight away.
- During the session, both you and the therapist have an SOS button, and you can share your trip with a friend or family member.
After the session: reviews and therapist levels
After each session, you review the therapist. Therapist levels (New, Standard, Professional, Elite) are assigned automatically based on completed sessions, review scores and cancellation rate over the last 90 days. Therapists who break the code of conduct may be warned, suspended or permanently banned.
Identity verification tells you who is coming. For the quality of their work, reviews from previous guests are the best guide, so check the reviews and level on the profile before you choose.
