How to book a home massage in Hanoi (step by step)
Updated October 10, 2026 · 4 min read
A walk-through of booking a massage at your address in Hanoi with the MiMi app, from choosing a treatment to paying at the end, plus tips for travellers.

Before you start: what you need
MiMi sends verified massage and wellness therapists to the address you choose in Hanoi: your home, an apartment or the place you're staying. Right now MiMi works in Hanoi only, including the Old Quarter and Hoàn Kiếm, Tây Hồ (West Lake), Ba Đình, Cầu Giấy and Đống Đa.
All you need is the MiMi app from the App Store or Google Play, a phone number and an address. The app is available in English, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and Chinese, so you can do the whole booking in your own language. You must be 18 or older to book.
Booking in the app, step by step
The booking flow is the same for every treatment. Everything important (treatment, length, time, address and price) is chosen on screen, so very little talking is needed later.
- Choose a treatment, for example Thai massage, aromatherapy oil massage, foot reflexology or a Vietnamese herbal head spa.
- Choose the duration. Most body treatments come in 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
- Set your address. Add the building name, tower and room number in the address note.
- Pick a time: as soon as possible, or a scheduled time later today or another day.
- Let MiMi pick the nearest available therapist, or choose one yourself from a list showing photo, distance and earliest available time.
- Check the total price on the summary screen and confirm.
How matching works
If you let MiMi choose, your request goes first to the nearest suitable therapist. If they can't take it, it moves on to the next one. As soon as a therapist accepts, you'll see who is coming and can follow them on the map as they travel to you.
If nobody accepts within about 5 minutes, the search stops so you're not left waiting. You can simply try again, or schedule the session for a later time, which often works better during busy evening hours.
When the therapist arrives: the check-in code
Every booking has a 4-digit check-in code shown in your app. The session only starts once the therapist enters that code, which confirms the right person has arrived at the right address. Don't share the code in advance; give it to the therapist when they are at your door.
During the session, both you and the therapist have an SOS button in the app, and you can share your trip with a friend or family member if you like.
Paying, No Tip and cancelling
You pay the therapist directly at the session, either in cash (Vietnamese dong) or by bank transfer to the therapist's own account using the VietQR code shown in the app. Pay exactly the amount the app shows. MiMi does not collect the service money.
MiMi is No Tip. The price in the app is what you pay, and you don't need to add anything on top. Bookings between 22:00 and 06:00 carry a night surcharge of ₫50,000, and public holidays add 20%; both are included in the total you see before confirming.
Cancelling is free while no therapist has accepted, or after acceptance as long as the therapist hasn't set off. Cancelling once they are on the way counts as a late cancellation: there's still no fee, but 3 late cancellations within 30 days pause booking for 7 days. A session can't be cancelled once it has started. If the therapist cancels or doesn't come, you pay nothing.
Tips for travellers in Hanoi
Hanoi addresses can be tricky, with lanes (ngõ), small alleys (ngách) and buildings that have several towers. A few small steps make the arrival smooth.
- Write the building name, tower, floor and room number in the address note.
- If your building registers visitors, tell reception or security that a therapist is coming.
- Use the in-app chat to send a photo of the entrance or your exact location pin.
- Most therapists speak Vietnamese and a little English; the in-app chat helps with anything else.
- Booking ahead for the evening is a good idea after a long day of sightseeing.
