Neck and shoulder massage at home for office workers: which treatment, and when to book
Updated October 22, 2026 · 2 min read
Eight to ten hours a day in front of a screen keeps your neck, shoulders and upper back tense. This post helps you choose a treatment and the right time to book a home massage.

Why office workers get stiff necks and shoulders
When you look at a screen, your head tends to move forward, your shoulders creep up and your arms stay in the same position over the keyboard for hours. The muscles in your neck, shoulders and upper back are held tense the whole time, so by the end of the day they often feel heavy, tired and hard to turn.
Massage helps these muscles loosen up, feel more comfortable and lets you unwind after work. Massage does not replace a medical check-up or treatment: if the pain lasts, numbness spreads down your arm or you feel dizzy, see a doctor first.
Which treatment to choose
Office workers on MiMi most often book one of these three:
- Deep neck and shoulders (45 or 60 min, from ₫250,000): focuses entirely on the neck, shoulders and upper back. A good fit when you only want to work on the tiredest area in a short time.
- Thai massage (60–120 min, from ₫350,000): pressure and full-body stretching, done in loose clothing without oil. Suits people who sit a lot and want their back, hips and legs stretched out too.
- Relaxing head massage, no wash (30–45 min, from ₫180,000): gentle work on the head, back of the neck and shoulders, ideal in the evening to help you rest.
When to book
Evenings after work are the most popular time: you shower, have a light meal and then the therapist comes to you. Eat at least 1 hour before the massage so lying face down isn't uncomfortable.
If you're busy, you can schedule a time in advance in the app so the therapist can plan around it. Sessions between 22:00 and 06:00 have a night surcharge of ₫50,000, already included in the total before you confirm.
A few habits that ease stiffness between sessions
Massage works better alongside a few small changes to your working day:
- Keep your screen at eye level, use a chair with back support and keep both feet on the floor.
- Every 45–60 minutes, stand up and gently roll your shoulders and neck for 1–2 minutes.
- Drink enough water and get enough sleep.
